Some time ago the nice folk at Red Fez nominated my poem "Katie or Amanda or Brittany" for Sundress Publications Best of the Net 2010. Pretty cool.

Two of my poems were published in the inaugural issue of Temporary Infinity. You can read the issue for free in PDF format: http://ti-writes.com/TempInfinityV1I1.pdf. There's no major snobbishness to it. I like that.

I've been working on Cubbyholes, an audio-textual-visual project (including "music" and "poetry" by myself) to be released in collaboration with Crack Crack. This release will be limited to a run of 25 physical copies. That makes it limited edition. You can hear/read more about it later. I'm going to pretend you're humoring me and nodding your head, like you'll remember to keep track of whatever-the-fuck-it-is I'm doing.

Leaf Garden is returning to an unofficial publishing schedule for the time being. If you've come here from there, rest assure, we're not a "dead press." We're just people with a lot of our own shit going on. And I apparently have no time management skills.

New issue of Leaf Garden is out.

I have work coming out with the Bicycle Review and Temporary Infinity and Vox Poetica. Maybe somewhere else?

Working on an anthology as a contributor and designer/publisher with Crack Crack. Also working on some lo-fi "avant-garde" music possibly for Crack Crack as well. (You can sneak in and listen to what's "finished" on my Bandcamp page.)

Still working on a book with Bygawd Books. Not really working on it. Just waiting. And such.

Working on an e-chap with Mmkayla (from Crack Crack) for Bygawd as well. Most likely going to start helping with their design elements.

I'm moving back to the mountains in a couple weeks. Trying to decide what to do about school and shit. Yep.

Leaf Garden, Music, Stuff.

Over at Leaf Garden, there's some staffing change going on. Instead of just taking on new editors and seeing how it works, I've decided to make issue #10 guest edited in hopes of one or more of the guests and myself feeling like they'd be a good fit to stay on with Leaf Garden. The guest editors are Sandy Ellston, Andrew Fortier, Hala Hoagland, Melanie Huber, and Serena Tome.

Crack Crack is likely to get swallowed by Leaf Garden Press and to shift focus from all forms of media to independent music and possibly film. More on that later, if and when it happens.

I've been writing/playing music more than writing/submitting poetry/prose. A lot of it is kind-of soft and simple and short. I've been listening to a lot of Sparklehorse and Ryland Bouchard. Maybe that's why? Some of the songs are on my YouTube page.

This is the newest one. It includes the poem "Underwater and Breathing through Straws," which was published at Tinfoildresses. It also includes the simplest percussion track ever and some acoustic slide guitar drenched in wahwah. The picture is my current backyard. It reminds me of Sigur Ros' interesting stage decorum.

A few updates.

I have a 2nd book coming out with Bygawd Books titled The Agnostic Nihilist's Doctrine (And Other Lies.) Probably in the summer time. Hopefully the next book or collection won't sound like it's overtly religious.

Also at Bygawd Books, there's a second release of God loves rich kids and we smoke off the same cigarette on its way. It'll be cheaper, apparently. I think that's cool. Accessibility is important. You can still get "first edition" copies for now, though.

Over at Leaf Garden Press, Melanie and I have opened submissions for issue #9, which has an "experimental" theme. Issue #8 is still in production and should be available in March. We're working on a couple books still.

I have work forthcoming at Clockwise Cat and the Bicycle Review. I think.

Projects of my own that I'm actually working on:

Nothing. Assignments for a school where I go to get that degree that I don't think I'll use.

And I've been invited to collaborate with another author with work coming from the low-down Bygawd Books, but that's just talk right now.

I've began a series of songs exploring dreams. The basic concept is to write "pop songs" about the characters in my dream without regard to them in my waking life. Naturally, since dreams can be a representation of real life, this doesn't necessarily disconnect the person as a fictional character.

I've mostly been working on song-writing rather than churning out poetry. The music project Eason and Louis is "back together." (Myself and Cody Shaffer.) The music project Njaim is still dancing in limbo. Nothing is ready for release. In the meantime: how about some poetry? Eh?

Here's a couple poems. Both of these were written due to e-mails from Melanie Browne. The first one is based on something I said, and the second was cut-up using a work-in-progress and the cut up machine (http://languageisavirus.com/cutupmachine.html) and then edited using my brain.
